2G scam and Supreme Court observations / PM answer

2G scam: Supreme Court observations on A Raja will be looked into, says PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has reacted to the Supreme Court observations questioning the continuance of Telecom minister A Raja by saying he would have the matter "looked into".

"I have not seen what the Supreme Court has said. When I go back, we will have it looked into," Singh told reporters while returning from a week-long three-nation tour.

He was responding to questions on the Supreme Court's observations on CBI investigations into the alleged scam in allocation of 2G spectrum and the remarks that "the same minister is still continuing today".

Asked whether the PMO was satisfied over the 2G spectrum allocation, Singh said he did not want to comment on whatever happened in the Supreme Court.
"I do not want to comment on whatever happened in the Supreme Court as the matter is now sub-judice and it is not proper for me to comment," the Prime Minister said.

The apex court had yesterday questioned the continuation in office of Raja. It had termed the matter as serious while slamming CBI for its "slipshod" investigations into the 2G Spectrum allocation scam.

Asked whether he would undertake reshuffle of his Council of Ministers, Singh said, "when it takes place, you will come to know".

He was also asked about the recommendation of the National Advisory Council (NAC) headed by Sonia Gandhi that 75 per cent of population should be given differential legal entitlement to foodgrains through PDS as a part of food security initiative and whether it would be brought in Parliament in the form a bill.

"When I go back I will try to acquaint myself what are the recommendations of NAC. Those recommendations have to be taken seriously and our government will apply itself seriously to evaluate those recommendations," he said.

To a question on Centre's interlocutor for Jammu and Kashmir saying that Pakistan has a role in solving the issue, the Prime Minister said "comments in a democracy are free".

Look at the way PM answers the query, once in a Press meet when he was cornered he said, everything was as per the rule book and gave a evading answer unlike a leader, now after all these years he says he would look into it,and we , the people , who wrote our Constitution will come to know what he decides. So Democracy is decided by only one man and destiny is written by this man , despite the media exposing the lacunae , every citizen concerned talked about the scam incessantly, tirelessly and nothing done all these years. Even Supreme Court shows its concern, he still evades, to whom we pledged our destiny and future of this great country, built up by great leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru,Patel,Shashtri, and all true democratic leaders who tirelessly worked to stabilize this democracy. This country at last landed in the laps of one who worked as an executive in various capacities without leadership qualities and never ever worked for the people of the country who belong to the lees and dregs of society. Now it is glaring to know with our dismay what he did with proliferation treaty despite the warning by the scientists and the opposition.Should a bachelor like me who thought this country would one day develop and bring up the poor to the level of making them eating three times a day tolerate such ham-handed,clumsy approach to the monumental scandals eating away the vitals of the riches of this country?
